About The Source

The Source is a dedicated music/arts venue in the heart of Carlisle. The venue is split into two sections - the front is a modern lounge/bar with a perfect combination of candle-lit ambience and a soundtrack to set the tone for any occassion. Travel through the lounge to reach our back room. Here you'll find our stage - equipped with a full range of audio/lighting equipment to easily accommodate acts ranging from acoustic folk artists to head-banging heavy metal groups. Although The Source is spacious enough to let your hair down and have a good dance, it's size allows a brilliant intimacy in gigs that simply can't be found elsewhere.

The Source is also available for private hire. Our very reasonable rates and brilliant student deals make The Source a perfect place for university performances and exhibitions. Please don't hesitate to CONTACT US with any questions/queries you may have.

NB. Over the next few months, The Source is going through some major refurbishment - We expect the work to done throuhgout September/October but this will not affect our usual opening times (Every Thurs, Fri and Sat from 8pm + Other selected dates). So, keep coming to our fantastic events and watch the progress as we upgrade everything from our decor (with a brand new box office, bar, stage, dressing room etc) to our sound/lighting - our max capacity during this period will also be doubled!
